Painting Process 04
>> May 26, 2009
So, we started the second painting on Sunday, and still excited about it.
As I explained this before, the project consists of us picking a favorite painting of a style we want to explore and learn. By using either the grid or the projector, we transfered the small copy of the painting into the large canvas. I chose the grid of course.
Then we had to do some research about the way that painter approaches his/her work. Their application of color.
I took some pictures of my classmate's work, two took theirs home so I didn't get a chance to shoot them. Like I mentioned before, we're 7 students in this class. Nora, Melina, Kaltham, Maryam, Carla, Malak and Me. I'll try to provide some pictures tomorrow of the two paintings that aren't shown down here, One was Kandinsky's and the other one was Matisse's.
My Norman Rockwell's painting. The Harry Potter-like girl.
Nora's painting. I think she chose a painter who paints apples. Even though she's pregnant she manages to work hard and stay late to get the work done. I really respect her dedication and devotion towards learning. Well done, Noroo.
Carla's ballerina. I have no idea who the painter is. I guess I'll ask her tomorrow. And you should see the way she approaches her painting, it's pretty fascinating.
Melina's Jean-michel Basquiat. Hmm.. I see a face, fences, some music instrument, a blue print of some sort of a house... : P . The colors are rich and beautiful.
Kaltham's rose. The way she did it, she made it look like a simple work, but it wasn't. Beautiful.
